A HighPoint IT Technician Level 2 position is primarily responsible for providing technical support to our
internal users and systems.
Role Description
The IT Technician Level 2 position reports to the IT Manager and is primarily responsible for providing technical support to our internal users and systems. Secondarily, this position may engage in customer-facing support procedures within the Network Operations Center (NOC), as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1–2 support technical support for all inbound calls and tickets
- Review, assess and complete IT support requests
- Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and workstations
- Support remote users and mobile device management
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Security patching
- Monitor server performance and uptime (Windows/Linux).
- Ensure data backups, disaster recovery protocols
- Manage cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365)
- Provide timely and effective technical support to meet user’s expectations via telephone or in person
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues i.e. connectivity, applications, Internet,
WAN - Additional tasks as directed by management
Requirements
- CompTIA A+ preferred
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and SaaS tools
- Troubleshooting desktop, server, and network issues
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Administration of Active Directory
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with focus on customer satisfaction
- Customer service skills
- Proactive approach and good troubleshooting techniques.
- Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on quick problem resolution.
- Be very attentive and detail oriented.
- Ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously.
