The Senior Solutions Architect (Sr SA) position is a role that supports the sales, engineering delivery and managed services groups. Sr SA is a technology and solution focused consultant who creates client intimacy and credibility with their thought leadership and technical solution guidance.

Role Description

The role provides presales support for the sales group in designing and proposing professional and managed services as well as product based solutions. These solutions focus on networking (wired/wireless), unified communications, data center and cybersecurity related solutions throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires a unique skill set that balances technical competency, excellent communication skills and business acumen to ensure that solutions are delivered on time, on budget, and right the first time.

This is a full-time, salaried position based in the United States that will report to the Director – Solutions Architects – US.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the sales team in identifying technical solutions that solve business challenges for prospects and clients.
  • Acts as the trusted advisor to HighPoint’s prospects and clients related to networking (wired/wireless), unified communications, data center and cybersecurity.
  • Designs conceptual infrastructure solutions based on prospect and client needs.
  • Develops bill of materials required to support proposed solutions.
  • Works closely with the inside sales team to ensure product quotes are accurate based on solution design.
  • Writes SoWs outlining project scope, approach, and deliverables for professional service engagements.
  • Develops project work breakdown structures (WBS) to determine project pricing and project management requirements.
  • Works closely with HighPoint project management and delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and right the first time.
  • Maintains awareness of technology trends that fall within HighPoint’s solutions.
  • Works closely with HighPoint’s partner sales and engineering teams to design and propose solutions.
  • Contributes collaboratively within a creative and fast-paced environment to ensure design and delivery of high quality, scalable and innovative, configurable solutions that adhere to the industry’s and company’s standards for computing, architecture, security and privacy.
  • Meets with vendor/partner account managers and engineers, as necessary, to discuss opportunities within key accounts. Participates in partner provided training, conferences, and events in order to strengthen relationships and solution awareness.
  • Enhances company reputation by actively practicing core values of the organization.
  • Collaborates with all HighPoint regions and departments as required.
  • Adherence to regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or greater than 10 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.
  • Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, group financial reports and general legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, board of directors, etc.
  • Mathematical Skills – Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportion to practical situations.
  • Presentation Skills – Ability to present to individuals and groups (large and small) via discussion, whiteboard, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer & Software Skills – Customer/Partner contact management systems, Sales Management software, Order Management and Processing systems, Project Management software, Spreadsheet, Word Processing, and Presentation software. The systems and applications include but are not limited to:
    • Microsoft Dynamics
    • Microsoft Office
    • Microsoft Project
    • Projector
    • Promys
  • Eight+ years of working with infrastructure technology partners such as Cisco, Arista, NetApp, VMWare, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Tanium, CyberArk, etc.
  • Technical certifications from technology partners such as Cisco, Arista, NetApp, VMWare, Palo Alto, Fortniet, Tanium, CyberArk, etc. are a plus.
  • Proven track record of designing, proposing infrastructure, and cybersecurity and manage services related projects.
