Role Description

This position will be primarily responsible for the design, installation, monitoring, maintenance, optimization, and support of wireless and networking technologies of external customer network infrastructures.  The position holds technical expertise related to the core components of standard wireless infrastructures, management systems, wireless best practices, and optimizations.  The implementation activities to be performed by the engineer include wireless design, device configuration, equipment installation, integration, implementation and migration, testing, and troubleshooting.  This position reports to the Director of Professional Services.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, designing, configurations, deployments, and support of LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure.
  • Participate in the evaluation of vendor hardware, software, and wireless communications products.
  • Operational support and troubleshooting of production wireless network issues.
  • Support external customer wireless network infrastructure.
  • Support day-to-day operational needs for customer infrastructure.
  • Support pre-sales wireless network engineering activities.
  • Leverage understanding of LAN/WAN technologies in order to support, design, and integrate complex wireless LANs.
  • Facilitate technical support case escalation for customer wireless infrastructure.
  • Documentation of advanced enterprise wireless solutions and designs.
  • Wireless design and validation, including RF site surveys of complex indoor and outdoor deployments.
  • Maintain professional-level certifications related to wireless network technologies and vendors.
  • Participate in technology and vendor-specific training classes.

Requirements

  • 10 plus years of experience with WLAN integration and LAN support.
  • Experience in Enterprise Networking (Routing & Switching)
  • Extensive experience with Cisco / Meraki products.
  • Experience with Arista and/or Aruba a plus.
  • Ekahau or Air Magnet survey tool experience preferred.
  • Cisco Prime / DNAC experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication plus time management skills.
  • Ability to develop solutions and provide technical leadership on projects.
  • Ability to present solutions to customers.
